Derek Perkins narrates this scholarly examination of Thomas Aquinas in the way many college students wish lectures were delivered. His voice is clear and steady, and he varies his tone to fit the material and keep passages from sounding pedantic. But make no mistake--this book is serious and deep. Chesterton's discussion requires attention on the part of the listener. Miss the early part of a passage--and the latter portion may be hard to comprehend. Perkins carries the work nicely with his engaging voice. His English accent adds appropriate atmosphere without interfering with the listening for Americans.
