Barbara Rosenblat offers her usual high-quality performance in Linda Fairstein's eighteenth Alexandra Cooper novel. Since she's narrated every one of the audiobooks featuring the Manhattan prosecutor, Rosenblat knows the characters well, and her portrayals of "Coop" and sidekicks Mike and Mercer are spot-on. This time, Fairstein reveals machinations behind the scenes of Manhattan's dying fashion industry. Alex is supposed to stay home and recover from her recent ordeal (DEVIL'S BRIDGE), but when Wolf Savage, head of an haute couture company, is found dead with his head in a plastic bag full of helium, models, mayhem, and murder take center stage. Rosenblat delivers an agitated Alex suffering from PTSD, in denial and self-medicating with alcohol. Each character's voice is distinct and immediately recognizable. Rosenblat is just plain amazing.
