The Reverend Barber mixes memoir and the history of the Moral Monday coalition in North Carolina to highlight how progress can be made for different groups seeking political, social, and economic justice. Narrator Chase Bradley has a deep, resonant voice, but he doesn't always leverage it to keep listeners engaged. His delivery lacks energy, and at times he seems to be going through the motions rather than embracing the emphatic prose. Barber presents a call to action to empower individuals and organizations in any state to find ways to work together for a better tomorrow. Sadly, Bradley delivers it without zeal, which drains the author's message of inspiration. L.E. © AudioFile 2017, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2017]
