DIANETICS The Evolution of a Science

Abridged from a 1950 book by the founder of Dianetics and Scientology, the audio details the thought processes on which this belief system is based. The author's training in mathematics and engineering is obvious; the writing has a relentlessly logical tone throughout the program, a tone that is not helped by Lloyd Sherr's biting and mechanical enunciation. Still, the system's foundation is laid out clearly: The primordial mind has the potential for understanding the human spirit and having more control over life than most people accept is possible. A focus on the rational, computational mind and precise definitions of psychological terms make it difficult to connect this material with anything but the thinking mind. T.W.
