A friend asks a drug-addicted hobo to find his niece, last seen riding the rails a month earlier. The search leads this once financially successful black man to danger, to facing the demons that caused his mental breakdown, and to a last chance at reclaiming his humanity. JD Jackson has the vocal skills to enrich this story, which is steeped in modern hobo culture. His depiction of male characters ranges ably from an addict's delusions to a white supremacist's vitriol. Unfortunately, his inability to vocalize distinctive female voices makes for a wholly unsatisfactory listening experience. P.R.
