THE MURDER ARTIST

Despite the plot’s incongruity--Alex Callahan must search the country for the kidnapper of his 6-year old twin sons--Case’s novel is both chilling and engrossing. Dick Hill's deft reading adds to the story's intensity. Focusing on the tide of emotions that engulfs Callahan as he travels from coast to coast in search of his boys, Hill captures his desperation. The highlight of the narration occurs when Callahan is buried alive during a Haitian voodoo ritual in order to gain the trust of a man who knows his sons’ captor.
