A DANGEROUS TALENT

by | Read by Kate Rudd

Mystery & Suspense • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2012

Art consultant Alix London finds herself drawn into a murder investigation as she searches for the truth behind a forged painting. Kate Rudd employs a light, youthful voice for the 29-year-old Alix. Rudd’s narration is even and straightforward, no matter what situation Alix gets herself into. Alix’s employer, the novice art collector Christine Lemay, is given a more mature tone, with a touch of pretentiousness. Rudd also portrays male characters well, in particular Alix’s father, an art forger recently released from prison, who has a playful British accent, and an undercover FBI agent, whom Rudd depicts in an intentionally broad, almost comical, Boston accent. The clear differentiation helps the listener keep up with all the twists in this delightful new series. E.N. © AudioFile 2012, Portland, Maine [Published: JULY 2012]
