Dortmunder, the professional burgler of Westlake's series, is enmeshed in an elaborate scam designed to legitimize "Little Feather Redcorn" as the last remaining member of an Indian tribe thought to be extinct. The purpose? Think gambling casino. Narrator Michael Kramer pleases while keeping listeners from getting lost--a feat, given the twists and turns of a convoluted plot with a multitude of characters. Most of the characters are nefarious rogues, offering Kramer the chance to delight listeners with unusual accents and speaking patterns. R.E.K.
