Roy Worley brings his corporate voice-over skills to a project that might have been better served by a narrator more at home delivering an audiobook about parent-child communication. His phrasing patterns are pleasing enough, but they are from the world of advertising. His delivery doesn't always sound connected to this work's emotional nuances. The author's writing style may be part of the problem; he has an authoritative way of spelling out his advice, which Worley's narration reflects--perhaps too much so. But John Gottman is a legendary researcher whose terrific insights are based on years of studying family communication. His tips on how to coach children through familiar emotional challenges will help them express their inner worlds to the people who love them and manage their emotions.
