Narrators Jakobi Diem and Adenrele Ojo reveal how Brooklyn Dembélé and Vann London find a second chance at love. They're both at a crossroads. When they meet up at historically Black Romey University, they consider rekindling an earlier affair. The two narrators lean into the lead characters' soul-searching. Ojo's voice captures the regret and rage Brooklyn processes after sabotaging her marriage. Diem's portrayal illuminates the thoughtful side of Vann, with his raw emotions sometimes bubbling to the surface. There is a noticeable difference between Ojo's and Diem's voicings of Vann; Ojo's voice is more provocative, while Diem's is more pugnacious. Overall, the capable Diem and Ojo voice an unusually realistic romance that shows how lovers overcome self-destructive behavior.
