They're all here--Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and every other character from CASABLANCA. Edward Herrmann brings them back in a performance so stellar you can't imagine that it's only one reader. His Rick Blaine is perfectly Brooklyn, and his Victor Laszlo completely Czechoslovakian. French Resistance, British Intelligence, German Nazi, Harlem Jew and Negro, even the Norwegian mother-in-law, receive equally skilled attentiveness. Lynn Redgrave lends her voice to Ilsa Lund, in a perfect complement to Herrmann's other characters. Crowning the presentation are piano and light orchestra interludes of exactly the right tone and length, from the title song to the German national anthem. Best of all, we get to find out what happened to all our Casablanca friends. The only thing missing from this performance is the cigarette smoke. R.P.L.
