THE WANDERERS

Sixteen-year-old shape shifter Flo is terrified to perform for the first time as a horse in front of humans. But, in order to stay with the circus where she's been raised, she has no choice. Luci Christian's narration strikes an interesting balance between Flo's naïveté--she believes that the harrowing tales of Hunters exist only to scare children--and her more mature feelings of love and responsibility for her shape-shifter boyfriend, Jett, and her other circus friends. When the worst happens and their troupe is attacked by the deadly Hunters, Christian's youthful tones heighten Flo's emotions through the harrowing events that follow.
