Ms. Marvel is not your typical superhero. Kamala Khan is a high school student in Jersey City who’s learned she can expand all or parts of her body due to her inhuman genes. And she's the first Muslim superhero to get her own book. Her home life, particularly her interactions with her Pakistani family, also makes for an interesting twist. There are two related adventures in this audiobook, which is performed by a full cast with an emphasis on sound effects, lots of explosions, and crowd noises. The characters’ voices are perfect—they’re distinct and actually sound like high school kids. The ever-present background noise makes the story sound real.
