With this audiobook, one can hear about a portion of Islam unknown to most Americans: Islam's contemplative tradition. Willis thoughtfully and carefully reads one of the last works of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, who is an Islamic Sufi, a mystical practitioner of Islam. Willis reads at an appropriate pace and with appropriate seriousness, directing individuals toward personal purification, peace with others, embrace of the true faith, and oneness with all people. The work is more devotional than educational, and Willis reads it accordingly. Amazingly, Willis never stumbles on the occasional Arabic passage, phrase, or name; his reading of those passages is so good that he sounds bilingual. M.L.C.
