Paralegal Zara Remington finds herself drawn into mystery and danger as her job and her personal life, particularly her relationship with the mysterious Ryker Jones, intersect. The story has lots of twists and turns as Zara and Ryker deepen their relationship while at the same time dealing with murder, kidnapping, and Ryker's past. White maintains the energy and emotion of the story through variations in the pacing and intensity of her reading. Zara is unused to the situations she finds herself in, and White portrays her with a lot of emotion.
