Musician and writer Janis Ian performs this book of poetry, originally published in 1969, when she was still a teenager. This reissue includes poetry left out of the original collection as well as a foreword and afterword in which Ian looks back, with audible fondness and wistfulness, at this time in her life and the drive that made her a star at such a young age. Ian herself admits that the poems are mix of good and bad, but her reading sparkles with wit and mischief, and her musical interludes add variety and color. Overall, the audiobook gives an entertaining look at a person, a time, and how one's perspective changes through time. A good choice for budding poets and Ian's fans.
