This thoughtful, articulate, and nuanced memoir by actress Tippi Hedren (who is also actress Melanie Griffith's mother) covers multiple aspects of her fascinating life. Topics include her complicated relationship with film giant Alfred Hitchcock and her love of wild animals, including the story of her wild animal sanctuary, Shambala. Hedren's narration is as cool as the proverbial "Hitchcock blonde" but also precise and remarkably vibrant, especially considering her 86 years. The star of THE BIRDS and MARNIE devotes equal, if not greater, attention to her work with animals.
