Amber's story begins, simply enough, with a brief confession: She is in a coma, her husband doesn't love her anymore, and sometimes she lies. Wait--what? Made to feel off-balance from the start, listeners can rest assured that they are in the best of hands. Though the pace of the story is relentless, Racine is indefatigable. She transitions with ease among a cast of clearly drawn characters, never missing the mark emotionally and even delivering a chilling melody.
