Byron Katie's latest book, like her others, focuses on vanquishing painful thoughts by courageous self-examination of our words and assumptions. Her co-author, Stephen Mitchell, an expert on the ninth-century Buddhist text THE DIAMOND SUTRA, ably narrates the introductory chapters. The rest of the audiobook has the clear-speaking Katie explaining her views or conversing with the other narrators, both appealing readers. The combination of voices supports the communal message in Katie's thinking. She challenges listeners to think of themselves as fluid beings connected to everyone and gently shows how thinking this way can liberate us from feelings of isolation. This excellent production is a perfect vehicle for the author's wisdom--satisfying to hear and provocative in its invitation to re-examine ourselves and the world.
