Victoria Alexander has written two lighthearted Regency romances, and narrator Marian Hussey narrates them with perfection. She remains perfectly engaged with both stories and their characters as they encounter the difficulties and joys of falling in love. Both stories contain interesting plot twists and humor, as well as a dose of the typical romance genre formula--will the lead characters ever get together despite all their misunderstandings? Hussey's English accents are delightful, whether she's portraying the beautiful and intelligent young ladies, the hilarious and meddlesome grandmother-types, or the confused and misunderstood (but exceedingly handsome) gentlemen. She's also perfect with the American accents. Hussey's engaged, fast-paced narration adds flourish and keeps the stories moving, making them both entertaining diversions for fans of romance audio.
