Everyone eats, and most people have a table in their home. The problem is that we often don't associate our tables with God's work, yet inviting others to share in our bounty can be seen as a Christian act. As Diana Batarseh narrates this magnificent call to hospitality, she adds a tone of understanding and learned lessons, suggesting she has adopted this work as her own. The sadness and joy in her voice accentuate the listening experience. Her voice shines as the author fondly recalls the trials and errors that led to intimate sharing and genuine fellowship, and she slows her tempo to a crawl when reading how the author learned of the horrors of sex trafficking, all from sharing a meal.
