30 DAYS OF NIGHT

The classic graphic novel of vampiric mayhem is now a full-cast audio drama. For the uninitiated, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT is the story of Barrow, Alaska, an isolated town that every year has a month-long polar night. Unfortunately for the locals, a roving band of vampires discovers their unique situation and descends on the town for 30 days of sunless uninterrupted feeding. In audio form, this story is uneven. The voice acting is excellent, with sympathetic human characters and a host of seriously creepy vampires. However, there’s too much exposition to compensate for the lack of visuals, and the action often descends into a jumble of squishy sound effects.
