Narrator Eric Martin's dispassionate staccato is a fine match for this collection of essays written by well-known correspondent Robert Kaplan. These essays, published over the past decade and a half in such publications as THE ATLANTIC, examine U.S. policy in world affairs and provide insightful analyses of such topics as the Vietnam War, the War in Iraq, and naval power, among others. Martin's deep voice is disciplined and dispassionate, befitting Kaplan's commentary. He makes this fascinating work time well spent for the listener.
