Narrator Amanda Leigh Cobb's dynamic voice delights in the third chapter book adventure featuring the Lumberjanes. Roanoke Cabin member Ripley is bouncing-off-the-walls excited over a nest of massive mysterious eggs--and devastated when the smallest one is stolen. Cobb portrays the enthusiastic Ripley in a youthful, raspy voice, which is often talked over by her busy and distinctly voiced cabin mates. Ripley is typically not the leader on their adventures, but in this story we hear her learn scientific skills from fellow camper Barney, collaborate with the others to make plans, and then put those plans into action. Ripley's empowering adventure, goofy songs, and unique perspective on life at this "Camp for Hardcore Lady-Types" will delight young listeners.
