These short stories of life in the South, based on actual events, are reminiscent of storyteller Donald Davis. Each presentation is humorous despite its subject, and adding to the fun is Chad Bower's fast-paced narration, the opposite of the usual Southern drawl. In "The Tale of Wobbly," listeners will chuckle upon meeting McCray's slobbering hound dog, who helps get rid of the coyotes that keep invading the henhouse. McCray hilariously responds to each of Wobbly's transgressions with an indulgent "bless his heart." "The Fall Moonshine Run" finds Bower at his best as McCray deals with suspicious cops when he claims his whiskey is extra gas. It's a relief and a laugh when everything ends happily.
