Anna is either spunky and courageous--or merely annoying and reckless--depending on your point of view. Quirk gives Anna a high-pitched voice and the petulant tone of spoiled child. Nonetheless, Quirk's narration guides listeners through a racially charged environment as Anna solves a baffling murder.
