Further, Masters adds spice to the audiobook with her portraits of the superstitious residents of the island and the eerie events of a seance aimed at reaching the missing bride. Throughout the audiobook, Masters effectively plays down the anachronisms in the story, making the listening experience all the more enjoyable.
