But he doesn't dwell on that, instead detailing his youth, moments with teammates on and off the field, and memories of games during his nine-year Major League career. He chuckles at his own jokes, which is more endearing than anything else. Swoboda is a solid writer, and his stories are told in a genuine, comfortable way.
