It would be easy to narrate this work in an over-the-top apocalyptic tone, but narrator Madison Niederhauser wisely chooses a more studied approach.Trees are a vital but often overlooked factor in global climate change. Utilizing trees as a food source can help reverse the trend. Author and arbor expert Akiva Silver is a kind of tree evangelist, and this book is his gospel. Niederhauser doesn't try to embellish the author's words or add false drama. He carries the text nicely, with enough variety to keep it from sounding pedantic. In the hands-on sections, he presents elements at a pace that makes the material easy to follow. R.C.G. © AudioFile 2019, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPTEMBER 2019]
