Narrator Gomez Pugh may be new to many listeners, but his nuanced performance will leave them clamoring for more. Eddie Rosas has been trying to make a fresh start after being released from prison. A chance encounter with Carmen Centeno, the woman he never thought he would see again, both sweetens and complicates his journey to find his father. As he works to redeem himself, he must resist the temptation to go back to his old life. Instead, he works to embrace the love of his community, his family, and Carmen. Pugh's performance is, in one word, flawless. His accent is redolent with the complexities of a native Spanish speaker, animating every dialogue exchange and painting Eddie, in particular, in broad, emotionally conflicted strokes. A.L.
