THISTLES AND THIEVES

The four ladies of Yon Bonnie Books, a bookshop in a small town in the north of Scotland, realize that there must be a connection between a series of deaths, and they set out to investigate. Narrator Lucy Paterson rises to the challenge of portraying the two Scottish and two American main characters with ease, seamlessly moving from one accent to another during dialogue scenes. She also brings alive the quirky and eccentric cast of supporting characters, who include several males she voices with ease. Her narration, combined with the well- written descriptions of the area, helps to transport listeners to the Scottish Highlands.
