THE WILL TO DIE

Narrator Kyle Tait smoothly delivers this story of murder, conspiracy, and secrets. Will Pollitt, a marketing guru and recovering gambling addict, returns home to Sandusky, Ohio after the suspicious death of his father, a funeral director. Tait shifts from a steady delivery of narrative to subtle accents for dialogue to differentiate the male characters, adding a bass pitch for Will's partner, Rob. The women's voices are higher and sharper, with an angry edge for Will's ex-wife, Samantha. Eerie musical phrases separate chapters. As Will, along with Rob and Sam, investigates his father's demise, he uncovers a string of prematurely cashed-in life insurance policies, other suspicious deaths, and a citywide conspiracy to drive out minorities.
