Driftwood is a place where worlds come to die. Christina Delaine narrates this audiobook, which is framed as a memorial to a person called Last--the last living being from his world. Each tale offers a different world's remembrance of how Last interacted with it--some view him as a sort of savior, and others characterize him as more of a con man. The stories are very different from each other, but Delaine ties them all together with a constant and steady demeanor. She relies on soft accents and inflection where there is dialogue. A chapter index would have been a benefit for the audiobook to make it easier to go back and forth to a particular story. J.E.M. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine [Published: AUGUST 2021]
