Political analyst Tiffany Cross aims to disabuse listeners of the notion that Black voters are a homogenous voting block, and she offers historical perspectives on the reasons this is so. It's hard to imagine any other narrator for this audiobook, as Cross is well positioned to tell her own story and advocate her ideas. She offers her own experiences, first as an intern for CNN and then in various other professional situations, to illustrate her points. She isn't shy about speaking her mind and calling out the media for constructing a narrative that focuses on white voters instead of a more nuanced and realistic analysis of issues and their impact on various demographics among the Black community, as well as other segments of the country.
