DARKFALL The Legendsong, Book 1

This first installment in the Legendsong saga was written in 1997. While twin sisters Glynn and Ember are on a vacation in Greece, Glynn is swept out to sea and through a portal to a parallel universe called Keltor. Unbeknownst to either sister, Ember is also transported through the portal when she tries to save Glynn from drowning. Thus, Carmody begins narrating alternating sagas of the parallel journeys of the two sisters. Carmody is the perfect guide to help listeners navigate the complex cosmology of Keltor. She maintains a good pace and strong engagement throughout. Her rendition of dialogue is nuanced, sometimes intimate, and she ensures that the characters' relationships and motivations are clear.
