DATING MAKES PERFECT

Nancy Wu narrates a teen rom-com about finding one's place within a family. While Winnie's older sisters were not allowed to date in high school, now the rules have changed--but her parents have decreed that her archnemesis, Matt, is the only boy she can date. Wu captures Winnie's feelings of desire and uncertainty as she strikes out on a completely new adventure, rather than following in her sisters' footsteps. Wu's portrayal of Matt shows that he was deeply hurt by the change in their relationship from childhood best friends to something approaching enemies, and it's clear that he still genuinely cares for Winnie.
