THE BOYS IN THE BACK ROW

Narrator Keong Sim tells the story of Matt, a sixth-grade flute player turned bass drummer who schemes with his best friend, Eric, to visit their favorite comic book creator at DefenderCon while on a band competition field trip. As they work to create a plan and make their adventure a reality, they must deal with challenges such as bullying by their classmate Kenny and the discovery that Eric will soon be moving. Sim's generally even pacing is punctuated by youthful dialogue that adds drama to this middle school story.
