Living the simple life is largely a matter of definition. One person might abandon all modern conveniences and scratch out an existence in the wild, while another might choose to make coffee at home rather than frequenting the nearby drive-through. A better option is to live a simpler life, and that's the lesson in this audiobook: Use nature and a simpler life to heal. Steven Jay Cohen's narration exactly fits the mood of this work. His quiet tone reflects the author's quest for solitude. But the author's slow style can induce a kind of somnolence. Part of that might be due to the translation from Swedish to English. Also, the practical lessons on outdoor living are helpful if you plan to go camping but not if you plan to stay in the city. R.C.G. © AudioFile 2020, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2020]
