THE ART OF VIOLENCE Lydia Chin/Bill Smith, Book 13

by | Read by Erica Sullivan

Mystery & Suspense • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2020

Narrator Erica Sullivan has the benefit of Rozan's well-written plot. In the 13th installment in the Lydia Chin/Bill Smith series, Smith takes center stage, with his partner in a supporting role. Sullivan successfully conveys the personalities of the female characters and effectively uses pace and tone to amp up the drama. However, she is less effective in credibly voicing male characters, particularly Smith. Listeners may be challenged to differentiate the characters in the quick-paced dialogue. The plot involves Sam Tabor, a talented but mentally unstable former client recently released from jail. Convinced he is a serial killer, Sam hires Smith to prove it. Sam's network includes a number of obvious and surprising possible perpetrators. The audiobook will keep listeners engaged throughout.
