The newest installment in the Liam Campbell series finds the state trooper in the Alaskan town of Blewestown. He has barely opened his suitcase when the first crisis arises. Marguerite Gavin superbly narrates this whodunit as Liam investigates the murder of an archaeologist who claimed to discover native artifacts that would turn the oil-rich land into a World Heritage site. Liam suspects that his straitlaced new assistant knows more than she is willing to admit. Gavin provides easily distinguishable voices for Liam and his new wife, Wy, as well as the reluctant local police chief and the self-important local judge, whose courtroom is actually the town saloon.
