Australian narrator Rebecca Macauley brings a variety of accents and inflections to a story of an Australian town. Its residents are forced to confront their misconceptions of racism, immigration, and homelessness amid the backdrop of a contentious community garden and a seemingly corrupt local government. With a mix of interwoven storylines, Macaulay's narration has to keep up with characters from all walks of life, and she balances the performances beautifully. While at times the story can be uncomfortable and occasionally preachy, Macaulay keeps listeners fully engaged with the complications until all the pieces fall into place.
