Simon Vance narrates this audiobook, which takes place near England's Salisbury Plain, where several recent bodies buried in an ancient cemetery have been discovered. When yet another local girl goes missing, Detective Chief Inspector Mack Jones consults former London cop, now small-town PI Atticus Priest. Vance's portrayal of Priest makes it clear that the prickly detective is on the autism spectrum. As the search widens, Mack encounters brutal drug dealers (disturbingly portrayed), along with ruthless Irish nationalists. The action is nonstop, with Priest outmaneuvering the police, much to their fury.
