Former NYPD Detective Nico Doyle, portrayed by Danny Deferrari, is still working to rebuild his life in Gravigna, his late wife's hometown, where he is working and cooking at her family's restaurant. After the murder of a flashy wine critic who was causing problems for the townspeople, the local maresciallo again comes to Doyle for help in solving the crime. Deferrari makes Nico's continued grief, growth, and passion obvious with his pacing and tone, but the Italian words and phrases occasionally seem disjointed in the overall narration, which may be disruptive to listeners.
