The climate crisis and family dynamics are the themes in this young adult audiobook. Thirteen-year-old Luke's summer goes awry when his older sister, Rose, moves into the house across the street, which is occupied by a commune of climate activists protesting an airport expansion that will closely affect the community. Then, instead of bringing her home, their dad joins her. Sam Newton gives a spirited narration of the young teen's account of events. With a youthful quality to his voice, Newton embodies Luke, adding a layer of believability to his performance. However, as Newton portrays the various other personalities in the story, he provides little distinction between their voices. Nonetheless, eco-conscious listeners will enjoy this production.
