This audiobook, written and presented by speaker, teacher, and entrepreneur Dorie Clark, is an egotistical, self-involved infomercial for herself. Her youthful and mildly enthusiastic narration is workmanlike. Her overall message is that we need to break today's cycle of intensely busy work by concentrating on the 20% of what we do that will most strongly impact our personal and career needs in the long term. The work is invested in the effective use of social media. But Clark's suggested principles and frameworks for progress too often reference her other books, classes, and websites. And the concluding paragraphs are an undisguised advertisement for her business interests. Self-confidence is an asset, but ethical advice should reflect one's listening audience, not oneself.
