Billie Fulford-Brown narrates this contemporary British coming-out story. Eighteen-year-old Georgia has never kissed anyone, much less dated, had sex, or fallen in love. In fact, she's never truly wanted any of those things. As she begins her first year at Durham University, however, Georgia can't surrender her dream of a "normal" university experience—romance included. It's only after many missteps that she claims her identity as asexual/aromantic and recognizes the deep value of her friendships. Fulford-Brown's soft-spoken, sensitive narration may enhance listeners' empathy for Georgia, helping them push through the character's angst and adolescent uncertainty to arrive at the affirming conclusion. (The audiobook includes a bonus scene narrated by Elizabeth Schenk and Imogen Church.) R.A.H. 2023 Audies Finalist © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine [Published: DECEMBER 2021]
