Her soft vocal tone sounds out of sync at first with Kim Perell’s depth of experience and assertive writing. The author is a widely recognized superstar in the business world, a celebrity entrepreneur who also has been an outrageously successful mentor. But as Auerbach’s subtle charisma becomes more prominent, her consistent phrasing and clarity make up for what her performance lacks in vocal power. The author’s encouragement and advice are similarly effective in ways that are not obvious at first.
