Narrator David Colacci returns to portray Commissario Guido Brunetti as he takes on a private investigation on behalf of a former neighbor. As the pandemic begins to wane in Venice, Brunetti and his colleagues must navigate post-restriction life as they investigate. They soon find much deeper and darker intrigue than they ever expected. Colacci narrates confidently and with spot-on timing and strong characterizations. He creates a likable and believable Brunetti and adjusts his intonation to successfully portray the female characters, as well. His authentic-sounding pronunciation of names and places helps transport the listener to Italy during this peculiar time. K.J.P. © AudioFile 2022, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2022]
