Nene Nwoko's melodic Nigerian accent and rich timbre introduce a family whose only inheritance is their late father's wheelbarrow. Nonetheless, listeners accompany Ladi as he learns how to be an upright man like his dad. For several years he will study under "Old Tutor." Nwoko's Old Tutor warmly but firmly has Ladi decide what he wants most and assists him in learning how to attain his goal through desire, self-discipline, determination, and dance--to celebrate ultimate success. Ladi proves his dedication by looking to nature for supplies (for example, flowers, feathers) to become the artist he dreams to be. Listeners will rejoice when Ladi returns home and uses his knowledge and legacy to earn a living and help his community. An enchanting tale.
