WINGWALKERS

Narrator Mark Bramhall portrays the bold, charismatic Zeno Marigold, a flying ace who survived the Great War to become something of an airborne traveling showman during the Great Depression. With his wing-walking wife and beloved Scottish terrier, Zeno hawks plane rides and daredevil stunts across the American South to scrabble earnings for food and fuel. Bramhall's slow pace is almost sleepy, but it does allow the listener to relish the story's breathtaking prose and rich imagery. The parallel true story of William Faulker's lifelong fascination with flying intersects with Zeno's fictitious tale when they meet by chance in New Orleans.
